ShieldNet Kids
ShieldNet Kids teaches children to use the internet safely and responsibly, and helps parents and teachers support them. It is the third program of Fundacja ShieldNet, alongside the standard and professional education. In Poland it runs under the name Bezpieczniaki.
What the program does
- Classes and workshops for children
- Ready materials for teachers and schools
- Guidance for parents and guardians
- Events and awareness campaigns
Bezpieczniaki, the Polish edition
Bezpieczniaki is the Polish edition of ShieldNet Kids, with its own characters and materials in Polish.
Children come first
- Child protection standards apply to everyone who works with children, including staff, volunteers and people delegated by partners. Each person is checked as the law requires before working with children.
- Materials for children contain no advertising.
- Sponsors never receive data about children, parents or schools, and have no say over the program's content.
- ShieldNet Kids is not part of the Partner Program, and money given to the program is used only for it.
An independent program council
The direction and content of ShieldNet Kids are set by its own Program Council of educators, psychologists and child protection specialists. The council is independent of the foundation's other bodies.
Local editions in other countries
Organizations in other countries can run a local edition of ShieldNet Kids under a free, non-commercial license. Each edition must apply child protection standards at least as strict as ours, follow local rules on children's data, and never use the program or children's data for commercial purposes.
